MCBS History
MCBS Congregation
Missionary Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament (MCBS) is an indigenous religious community started in the year 1933 in Kerala state, India. The congregation has at present two provinces namely, MCBS Zion and MCBS Emmaus with their wide range of pastoral and social ministries in India as well as abroad. The different states, where MCBS congregation is working in India are Gujarat, Karnataka, Telangana, North East, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and Tamil Nadu. The congregation has recently expanded its missionary works in the continent of Africa.
Our Founder’s
Fr. Joseph
Paredom MCBS
Father Joseph Paredom, one of the most brilliant and saintly sons of the Syro-Malabar Church, was born on 15thDecember 1887 at Mutholapuram in Palai eparchy. After high school studies at Puthuvely and Mannanam, on 9 January 1908 he joined the Puthenpally Seminary as a scholastic of the Changanassery Archdiocese. There he found his closest friend and the greatest personality, the Most Holy Eucharist. On 28thDecember 1914 he was ordained a priest by Mar Thomas Kurialassery.

Fr. Mathew
Alakalam MCBS
Fr Mathew Alakalam, the architect of the Missionary Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament (MCBS), was born on 30thMarch 1888 at Poovathode near Bharananganam. After his primary and high school education he joined the Puthenpally Seminary as a scholastic of Changanassery Archdiocese. On 21st December 1913 he was ordained a priest by Mar Thomas Kurialassery.

Foundation Of MCBS
On 7 th May 1933 Fr Mathew Alakalam together with Fr Joseph Paredom founded the Missionary Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament (MCBS) at Mallappally Mission church. Today MCBS, a religious congregation of the pontifical right, is known as the Benedictines of the Syro-Malabar Church due to her unique liturgical, Eucharistic, and missionary charism and contributions.

History
In 2005 Mar Joseph Kunnath, The Bishop of Adilabad, entrusted MCBS three mandals in Telangana for the independent mission work. . The mission was inaugurated in a rented house on3rd july 2006 by Bishop Joseph Kunnath. The significance of Adilabad eparchy is that geographically it is the north most district of Telangana and ecclesiastically almost all the faithful are new converts.

SNEHADANA SOCIETY

History
The MCBS Snehadana started to function in a rented house in 2006. In 2007 one acre of land adjacent to the parish church was purchased. Again in 2008 four acres were bought for a school. In the year 2009 we started Mother Teresa English Medium School. At present Snehadana functions as the Mission Headquarters.
